WOMEN ON MISSIONS (WMU) MINISTRY
Our Woman’s Missionary Union is a group of women with a shared heart for missions. Our mission is to serve others in the name of Jesus, both here in our own community and around the world. We believe every woman has a part to play in sharing God’s love, and we would love for you to join us.
WHO'S INVOLVED?
Our WMU is made up of more than 30 women who love the Lord and love serving others. We meet once a month at 7:00 PM on the Monday following the third Sunday, and each month we take on at least one mission project together. Some of the ministries we support include:
- Meals for grieving families after a funeral
- Home-delivered meals for those who are sick
- Prayer shawls and lap robes
- Baby baskets for new mothers in need
- Operation Christmas Child
- Special items for the Standing Rock Indian Reservation
- Gleaning for the World and God’s Pit Crew
We also support the annual missions offerings: the Alma Hunt Offering for Virginia missions, the Annie Armstrong Easter Offering for North American missions, and the Lottie Moon Christmas Offering for international missions.
Whether you can cook a meal, knit a shawl, or simply lend a hand, there’s a place for you here. Join us at our next monthly meeting!
